According to the report of the food and agriculture industry news site “Agrofood News”, the Consul General of our country in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, Dawood Mirzakhani, stated that at no time in history have trade conditions with Russia been as good as now, and added: Russia is forced to trade with other countries, including Iran, due to the sanctions caused by the war in Ukraine.

He mentioned: Many European companies have been forced to leave Russia and now this opportunity has been provided for Iranian companies to take over the Russian market by offering competitive products.

Criticizing the lack of coordination between the companies and the teamwork of the producers of our country, this official demanded that the price offered by the Iranian companies should be the same in order to provide products in the same trade. And failure to comply with this issue will reduce the export of Iranian products.

He stated that the canned fish available in the Russian market is of lower quality than our country, but the taste of the people of Russia is used to such products and it is better for the producers of our country to consider the taste of Russians for the export of these items.
Mirzakhani said that only last month 280 million dollars worth of canned fish was exported from Belarus, China and Thailand to the Russian market, calling the Russian market a potential and strong market for the country’s food industry.
He also invited the food industry companies that are interested in participating in the Russian market and exporting to this country, to participate in the Kazan Food Fair, which is one of the three largest exhibitions in this country, and take a stand.
The Consul General of Iran in the Republic of Tatarstan, pointing out that it is difficult to enter the Russian market, announced the support of this consulate to companies that are active and interested in exporting to Russia and said: By introducing the managers of these companies to the managers of chain stores and markets such as Food City, it will be possible to expand the export of the country’s food industry products to Russia.
In this meeting, Masoud Bakhtiari, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Syndicate of Canned Industries of Iran, while considering the canned tuna and tomato paste industry as critical, announced the gathering of the activists of these industries in the government penal organization and said: Unfortunately, the prices of items such as canned tuna and tomato paste should not be determined by the market regulation headquarters and the first vice president personally, because after nearly a year, due to his busy schedule, the factories, considering that they are subject to prior pricing, one after another It has been closed and many workers have also lost their jobs.

This is despite the fact that last year, the Consumer and Producer Protection Organization and the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad reached an agreement regarding the price of these items, which remained silent due to the developments.
Bakhtiari considered one of the solutions for producers to turn to export markets and said: Considering the crisis that Russia has faced regarding the sanctions, the presence of Iranian companies, especially in the food and agriculture sector, in this export market is more likely than ever, but this issue requires economic stability and stable prices, so that Stability in our country has not been possible so far due to the fluctuations of the currency and the increase in the price of raw materials.

In this meeting, which was held with the presence of representatives from the member companies of the Canning Industry Syndicate, Confectionery and Chocolate Association and Dairy Industry Association, the audience shared their views and challenges in the Russian market with Dawood Mirzakhani, the Consul General of our country in the Republic of Tatarstan, and the lack of They severely criticized the financial exchange as well as the connection of their past demands.

In this meeting, the private sector activists asked the representative of the government, like other countries such as Russia and Turkey, the government of Iran should stand behind the private sector and its producers and defend their rights in the international arena.

At the end of this meeting, Mirzakhani suggested: By establishing an EMC company, Iranian companies should export their goods under one brand to countries such as Russia, because according to him, the presence of different brands and different prices will cause negative competition and eventually this project will face challenges.
